Sing with gladness; rejoice in the dance young and old together; they will rejoice from their sorrow. (Jeremiah 31:7,13)
Jeremiah certainly saw many sorrows, those that would happen to his nation and people, those he suffered for speaking out the Lord’s words and warnings. Yet with all the destruction and sorrows he foretold, he gives also the Lord’s promise that all things would be restored—a new covenant to begin again. And again. And again. We are living today in one of those restorations, one of the ‘agains’. We look forward to the day when all things will be restored in Jesus Christ’s kingdom.
‘I’ll clap my hands and wave them in the air, shout your name so everyone can hear. Jump as high as I can reach, and dance around to show that I’m so glad that you love me!’
Gather with your kids, pick up on the actions, young and old rejoice together!
SO GLAD - Vineyard Kids
Jeremiah - the prophet that no one would listen to. Except some did listen. Those families that left Jerusalem and came to the Americas listened to the warnings from the Lord. Yet Jeremiah stayed behind to witness the burning.
‘I put my fire in your mouth...[the king] fed the prophet’s words to his winter fire... The walls came down and the temple fell to ash...I will make a new covenant now...this is not the end of it.…’ What a powerful song and video, telling Jeremiah’s story so well.

How do we stand up for what is right? How can we face up to bullies? Do we use the things in our hands to retaliate with more hurt?
‘What can we build if we don’t use them to break? Lord help me learn to build instead of break.’

We refer to Jesus by many names. One of those is Healer. Healing us from our sorrows, from our sins, from what is broken. Empowering us to heal others. We’re not alone in our pains, nor our joys. We are connected.
Thank you Tammy Hall for introducing me to this incredible song! So glad we are connected!
‘For my salvation all things work together, in eternal life He gives me hope, By the power of His holy spirit I will live for Him. I belong to Him.’
I Am Not My Own - Craig Courtney, First Methodist Houston Westchase
Let’s do it, again! Healing, restoring - again. As many agains as it takes.
